I recently had a 4 day stay in Ward 27 in the Western and couldn't fault a thing. The staff, from the cleaners to the consultant and everyone in between were amazing and made my stay that wee bit more bearable. Keep up the good work! (5/5)
A long term patient with several treatments required appropriate care after more than one error admitted and still requires surgical correction, but for a check of one and new appointment of another - Medical and nursing staff cancelled the lesser of the two proceedures and confirmed the date and time for the 2nd proceedure. Transport did not arrive. Check made by patient to WGH. Bed manager called back and demanded to know who made the appointment as there were no beds available. Serious discussion took place and eventually it was agreed to admit the patient. Not to the agreed ward, but another. Expecting clearance and a rest overnight before a surgical proceedure in the morning - No Way. Still problems. No aneasthetist? an extra day in a bed and another day/night of worry. Day three - Success, patient just returned from surgery, but no-one knowes if she will be allowed home. (2/5)

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the WGH Edinburgh in 2005..... I had my operation, treatment and I am on a 10 year followup plan. Throughout all this I had a very high regard for the staff. Today I had to go to another hospital, because I have moved from the WGH area and had a referal from my new GP because I was having some 'boob' problems..... I have to say that I will be back to WGH even if I have to walk or travel on public transport, their treatment of their patients is second to none. (5/5)
I have been admitted twice, once to ward 53 in 2009 and the other to ward 24 in may 2011. On both occasions I feel that my care was excellent - a big thank you to all the nurses for making my stay more bearable! (4/5)

I was a consultant cardiolologist at WGH 1954-1982 and have been an inpatient twice recently. I would much like to discuss my experience with a representative of the medical and/or nursing staff if that were possible. (4/5)
