Re-modelled my engagement ring and it is absolutely beautiful - exactly what I asked for. He's a lovely person and a great jeweller. There is not many goldsmith left and he is the tops! (5/5)

I wanted the sidestones on my diamond ring replaced and had found a pair on the internet (having searched for months). I was a bit shocked when he took the ring from me and removed the current sidestone without much discussion. He then said the stones I had bought weren't suitable and he could get some for me. I should add that he was quite dismissive and spoke down to me. Despite my misgivings I went back once he had the diamonds as my ring now had a sidestone missing! I left the ring with him and he said he'd have it done the following week. A week later I went back. He was not in the shop. Another man (his assistant?) was there. My ring had not been finished, it was left out in an envelope in the back (not in a safe). The man couldn't tell me when Christopher would be back or when my ring would get done, but said he would get a message to him. I rang the next day and there was no answer. The email address on his website did not work. After getting increaingly worried I went back to the shop and the same man from the previous day said that Christopher hadn't been in and he didn't know any more. At this point I took my ring back. I did recieve a message from Christopher - no apology, no explanation/excuse. He just said he was taking a few days off. (2/5)

We'd been to some of the high street jewellers, but they were (a) more expensive and (b) lacked the personal touch. Christopher Ness took the time and care to make those special rings that bit more special. Highly recommended. (5/5)

He created a diamond and pearl pendant for my mother's wedding, to her specification, and it was absolutely perfect, exactly what she wanted. He's a real craftsman. (4/5)
