The BEST experience I've ever had at the hairdressers! I've been a regular customer at Cheynes on Lothian Road for the past few years but since moving in September I thought I'd try out the closer branch at Bruntsfield. It did not disappoint. I had a shoulder-length elongated bob and decided to make the bold move to a pixie cut. Ladies everywhere can understand the varying emotions that are attached to this transition. As a tight-pocketed student I've always asked for a stylist but for some reason whether it was due to a space in his schedule or the thought of the mass volume of hair about to be lopped off I was blessed enough to have the Salon Director Craig Hibberd cut my hair! I have never felt so looked after and catered to by a salon. Of course I hadn't brought any photos of pixie cuts with me for ideas so I told Craig I'd leave it up to him. Following a quick head check we deemed it safe to proceed with the pixie transition. After I had my hair washed and head massaged we began the chop. Starting with a quick all over cut and then taking some time for refinement. As this was a rarely performed procedure I had an audience for most of the time. Once operation: pixie was complete Craig styled my hair with Professional Sebastian Craft Clay (worth every penny!). As a newbie to the world of hair styling, Craig kindly gave me some tips of how to use the clay, style my hair and offered to walk me through it again if I was still struggling in a couple days’ time. The salon as a whole has an incredibly friendly atmosphere and I look forward to my next visit. So are you looking for a salon that you can trust? Go to Cheynes Hairdressers on Bruntsfield! (5/5)
